The 4th Ronchi dei Legionari Journalism Festival will focus on the risks taken by those who pursue the truth with passion and a sense of duty; June 9, 2018 award presentation

daphne_caruana An award to continue to honor the memory of a woman whom only death, a brutal one, managed to separate from the discovery of the truth: this is the journalism award dedicated to Daphne Caruana Galizia, organized in conjunction with the 4th edition of the Ronchi dei Legionari Journalism Festival, scheduled in the Friulian town from June 5 to 9, 2018.

The award will be given by the scientific committee (which is still being determined) to an aid worker or an information worker who has in common with Daphne Caruana Galizia a dedication to her craft such that she does not stop in the face of walls and intimidation, even at the cost of putting her life and family safety at risk. On June 9, 2018, on the Festival’s closing night, dedicated to Daphne, Maria Grazia Cutuli and all those who have died in journalism, the winner or victor will receive a nominal commemorative plaque and a cash sum to be donated to a charity of her or his choice.

The Daphne Caruana Galizia award, which has been applauded by the Maltese journalist’s family, is organized by the cultural association Leali delle notizie under the patronage of Assostampa, FNSI (Federazione Nazionale Stampa Italiana) and the National Order of Journalists.
