The message of the Secretary General of the National Federation of the Italian Press to the Forum of Mediterranean Women Journalists
Dear Marilu, dear colleagues,
the concomitant and unpostponable initiative in Montecitorio Square in Rome, in which for the first time the National Council of Fnsi and the National Council of the Order of Journalists will be brought together, prevents me, in spite of myself, from participating in your initiative.
Allow me, however, to express to you, along with my appreciation for an event that has become an important moment of reflection, my best wishes for the 2017 edition of the Forum. The subject matter, the attack on information, is particularly topical and is the reason that, among other things, brings us to the streets today. Defending information means defending citizens’ right to be informed and, therefore, safeguarding the quality of democracy.
